Audi is expanding its lineup with 11 new ultra models. In 2014, the German manufacturer will launch new and more efficient versions of the A4, A5 and A6 models. All these cars will come with the new “ultra” engine. We are talking about a 2.0 liter TDI unit rated at 136, 163 and 190 horsepower. According to Audi it can emit just 104 to 119 grams of CO2/km, depending on the model.

Furthermore, the new engine is very fuel efficient. It has a combined fuel consumption rate of 60.31 to 51.13 US mpg.

“The latest TDI technology, ultra-efficient transmissions, advanced exhaust aftertreatment – customers will hardly see anything, but they’ll notice the effects of powerful acceleration and, thanks to extremely low fuel consumption, when paying at the gas station. The Audi ultra models score points with big advantages for everyday operation – just what customers appreciate”, said Ulrich Hackenberg.

Thanks to a new technology, the unit can offer from 320 to 400 Nm peak of torque which can ensure sporty power generation even at low engine speeds. The new ultra 2.0 TDI engine will be offered in standard with a manual transmission but buyers will also be able to choose the dual-clutch gear box.

The new ultra models will go on sale successively from the first quarter of 2014. The 136 HP version of the A4 starts at €32,600 ($44,000), the A4 Avant at €34,250 ($46,300). With a 163 horsepower engine, prices for the A4 begin at €34,700 ($46,900), the A4 Avant €36,350 ($49,150). The A5 Sportback is available for €37,350 ($50,500) and the A5 Coupé for €38,150 ($51,550). The A6 is priced at €39,900 ($53,950), the A6 Avant at €42,250 ($57,100); the prices for both model versions with S tronic is €2,250 ($3,380) more.
