While we are waiting for the 2016 Detroit Motor Show and the debut of the new generation 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the guys from auto-presse.de have managed to get a few images with the German sedan.
As you can see, the new 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class follows into the footsteps of the S-Class and C-Class in terms of design. The front end of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is dominated by the new radiator grille which is surrounded by the impressive headlights. There are also two large intakes that are integrated in the front bumper.
At the rear end we see interesting and sleek LED taillights and a dual exhaust system. According to the same website, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz is 193.8-inches long and has a low drag-coefficient of 0.23.
2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class – Engine lineup
At the launch the new 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will come with the new developed 2.0 liter diesel unit rated at 195 horsepower. It will be offered on the 220d version and will be able to return 60.3 miles per gallon (3.9 liters per 100 km) on average. There will also be a 2.0 liter petrol unit on the E200 version but we do not know the technical details.
The line-up will continue with the E350e plug-in hybrid that will combine a 2.0 turbo with an electric motor for a total output of 279 horsepower. There will be two new diesel units rated at 150 and 258 horsepower while the petrol range will go from 183 horsepower to 333 horsepower.
