Kia has officially unveiled the 2015 Soul EV at the 2014 Chicago Motor Show. The car was designed to appeal to environmentally conscious buyers and features a two-tone exterior with a special front fascia which has an integrated charging port in the grille. Furthermore, we see LED daylight running lights, “Eco Electric” badging and 16 inch alloy rims wrapped in Super Low Rolling Resistance tires.

Inside the cabin, buyers will find cloth seats, blue accent stitching and a lot of eco-friendly components. In addition, the Korean car manufacturer added GPS navy, a rearview camera and an EV-specific climate control system.

The conversion to an electric car has reduced rear seat leg room by 3.1 inches and the cargo capacity has also been reduced to 19.1 cubic feet.

Under the hood is a 27 kWh lithium-ion polymer batter and an electric motor rated at 109 horsepower and 284 Nm peak of torque. Under these conditions, the Korean EV can sprint from zero to 62 mph in less than 12 seconds, while the top speed was clocked at 90 mph. According to Kia, the new 2015 Soul EV can travel 80 to 100 miles on a single charge.

The Soul EV will go on sale in the third quarter and will be available in California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Oregon.
