Porsche unveiled at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit the new generation of the 911 Targa 4 and Targa 4S. The new 2014 Porsche 911 Targa comes with a wraparound rear window and a removable front roof part. The roof can be easily operated in 19 seconds by pushing a button. Unfortunately, you will be able to do that only if the car is stationary.
Porsche will offer the 2014 Targa with an all-wheel drive system only while buyers will have the possibility of opting for either the 911 Targa 4 or the Targa 4S.
The first one is powered by a 3.4 liter boxer engine rated at 350 horsepower. According to Porsche it can do the 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds, while the top speed is clocked at 174 mph only when it is equipped with the PDK and Sport Chrono Package.
The 2014 Porsche 911 Targa 4S is featuring a 3.8 liter boxer engine with 400 horsepower. The sprint from zero to 62 mph is done in 4.2 seconds while the top speed is clocked at 182 mph.
Scheduled to go on sale this summer, the 2014 Porsche 911 Targa 4 kicks off at $101,600 whereas the 4S version begins at $116,200.
