Mercedes-Benz unveiled today the all-new 2014 S65 AMG. The performance version of the flagship sedan will be unveiled in front of the public at the Los Angeles Motor Show and Tokyo Motor Show. On the outside, the German performance model features new front and rear spoilers, a more aggressive radiator grille, bigger air intakes, new side skirts and a lot of AMG accessories. There is also a new set of 20 inch multi-spoke lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in 255/40 R20 tires at the front and 285/35 R20 tires for the rear axle.

Under the hood of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is a twin-turbo V12 6.0 liter engine that develops 630 horsepower between 4.800 and 5.400 rpm and 1.000 Nm peak of torque between 2.300 and 4.300 rpm. The engine resources are put to the ground via a 7G-Tronic seven speed automatic gear box. Under these conditions, the performance flagship sedan can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds, while the top speed is clocked at the 155 mph.

Even thought the car has extraordinary figures, Mercedes-Benz said it will have a fuel consumption of just 19.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of 279 grams per kilometer. According to the German car manufacturer, this is the “world’s most fuel-efficient V12 high-performance saloon in terms of power and torque”. More than that, Mercedes-Benz will offer a high-performance ceramic composite braking system which is 20% lighter than the standard one.

In standard, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG features Magic Body Control system with Road Surface Scan and ESP Dynamic Cornering Assistant. The latter is used to eliminate understeer when turning into corners by braking the inside rear wheel.

The all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG will be offered exclusively with a long wheelbase and is scheduled to go on sale in March 2014. In Germany, the performance flagship sedan will have a starting price of 232.050 Euros with VAT.
