2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe – First pictures and details

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the all-new 2014 S63 AMG Coupe. The new performance model will be officially showcased next month at the 2014 New York Auto Show. According to Mercedes-Benz officials, order books for the 4MATIC version will open in April, followed by the RWD model in July while deliveries are slated to commence in September.

On the outside, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe is featuring a more aggressive and sporty body kit. It includes larger air vents, muscular side skirts, a quad exhaust tailpipes and a glossy black air diffuser. In addition, AMG mounted 19 inch titanium grey multi-spoke wheels.

Under the hood of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe is a twin-turbo V8 5.5 liter engine rated at 577 horsepower and 900 Nm peak of torque. The rear-wheel version needs 4.3 seconds to run from zero to 62 mph, while the 4MATIC variant is 0.4 seconds faster. The top speed of the new S63 AMG Coupe is electronically limited to 155 mph.

Besides the usual AIRMATIC air suspension and MAGIC BODY CONTROL, the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe can also feature a curve tilting function which debuted on the regular S-Class Coupe enabling the vehicle to “lean into bends in a manner similar to a motorcyclist or skier.”
